27 July 2024 – 27 July 2026
"Indeed, to Allah we belong, and to Him we shall return."
إِنَّا لِلَّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ
(Surah Al-Baqarah 2:156)
Two years have passed since the heartbreaking martyrdom of Dr. Zaka ur Rehman Shaheed, yet his memory remains as vivid as ever in the hearts of all who knew him. Time may lessen many sorrows, but it cannot erase the love, respect, and inspiration left behind by a man who dedicated his life to serving humanity, his faith, and his community.
Dr. Zaka ur Rehman was not remembered merely because of his profession. He was remembered because of his character. He was a compassionate doctor who treated every patient with kindness and dignity, often putting the needs of others before his own. His clinic was not only a place of treatment but also a place where people found comfort, sincere advice, and genuine care.
As a devoted member of the Jamaat-e-Ahmadiyya, his faith was the foundation of his life. He remained steadfast in prayer, regularly offered Tahajjud, attended the mosque for congregational prayers regardless of the weather, and fulfilled every responsibility entrusted to him with sincerity and humility. His service to the Jamaat was never for recognition but solely for the pleasure of Allah. He served in various capacities with honesty, dedication, and unwavering commitment.
The tragic events of 27 July 2024 shocked everyone who knew him. His earthly journey came to an end through an act of violence, but his legacy of faith, service, patience, and compassion continues to inspire countless people. A believer may leave this world, but righteous deeds continue to speak long after.
Allah the Almighty says:
وَلَا تَحْسَبَنَّ الَّذِينَ قُتِلُوا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ أَمْوَاتًا ۚ بَلْ أَحْيَاءٌ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ يُرْزَقُونَ
"And never think of those who have been slain in the cause of Allah as dead. Rather, they are alive with their Lord, receiving His provision."
(Surah Aal-e-Imran 3:170)
Today, on the second anniversary of his martyrdom, we do not simply remember the day we lost him. We remember the remarkable life he lived. We remember his smile, his humility, his generosity, his unwavering trust in Allah, and his sincere concern for every person who crossed his path.
His life reminds us that true success is not measured by wealth or status but by faith, sincerity, and service to humanity. The impact of a righteous person does not end with death; it continues through the lives they touched and the values they left behind.
We pray that Allah the Almighty continues to elevate the ranks of Dr. Zaka ur Rehman Shaheed, grants him the highest place in Paradise, accepts all his sacrifices and services, and enables us all to follow the beautiful example he left behind.
اللهم اغفر له وارحمه، وعافه واعف عنه، وأكرم نزله، ووسع مدخله، واجعل الفردوس الأعلى مثواه. آمين.
His body may no longer be among us, but his kindness, faith, and legacy continue to live in countless hearts.
May Allah continue to bless his soul and grant patience and strength to everyone who remembers him with love.
