Dr. Zaka-ur-Rehman Shaheed was a devout Ahmadi Muslim who lived his life in accordance with the teachings of Islam Ahmadiyyat.

With Love, Faith, and Devotion to Hazoor and Jamat

 

From the very beginning, Dr. Zaka ur Rehman Shaheed was born and raised as a devoted member of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat. His heart overflowed with love and reverence for Hazoor (the Khalifa) and the Jamaat. This love was not just in words, but reflected deeply in every aspect of his life.

He carried an unwavering passion for serving the Jamaat and its members. Always ready to contribute, Dr. Zaka took part wholeheartedly in all Jamaat activities. Whether it was financial contributions or volunteering his time, he never hesitated to give his best.

His dedication shone brightest during local medical camps organized by the Jamaat. He was always among the first to arrive and the last to leave, serving selflessly with a pure heart. For him, serving humanity was inseparable from serving the Jamaat.

One of the most beautiful qualities of his character was his generosity toward fellow Ahmadis. Whenever he learned that someone was connected to the Jamaat, he never asked for money or fees. His service was truly unconditional, motivated by love and faith.

 

His love for Murabbi Sahibs and every Jamati officer was truly unconditional — pure and boundless. Whenever a Murabbi Sahib or any Jamati officer visited his home or even the local mission house, it was impossible for them to leave without sharing a meal together. With open arms and a heart full of warmth, Dr. Zaka ur Rehman Shaheed welcomed each guest as if they were family. His hospitality was not mere tradition but a sincere expression of his deep affection and respect for those serving the Jamaat. In his presence, one could feel the genuine love he held — a love that transcended duty, radiating kindness, generosity, and brotherhood. He didn’t just open his doors; he opened his soul. Every smile, every gesture, every shared meal was a testament to his heartfelt commitment to the Jamaat and those who worked tirelessly for it.

His love was a refuge — a place where Murabbi Sahibs and officers felt valued, cared for, and truly at home. This was the true reflection of his spirit: humble, generous, and overflowing with sincere devotion to the Jamaat and its leaders.

 

Initially, he began his earnest service in the Kharian Jamaat, dedicating himself wholeheartedly to their needs. Later, he continued his sincere efforts with his local Jamaat in Lalamusa, where he remained a beloved and respected figure, always at the forefront of every noble cause.

Secretary Maal: A Role of Trust and Responsibility

For four years, Dr. Zaka ur Rehman served as Secretary Maal of Jamat-e-Ahmadiyya Lalamusa. This was not just a position for him; it was a sacred responsibility he carried with utmost seriousness.

At the close of every financial year, when Chanda collections were accounted for, if there was any shortfall, he would quietly cover the gap from his own pocket to ensure the Jamaat’s trust and needs were met. His generosity was boundless, and his love for the Jamaat knew no limits.

Sadr Jamat: Leading with Dedication and Sacrifice

Later, he was honored with the responsibility of Sadr Jamat of Jamat-e-Ahmadiyya Lalamusa, where he led with a heart full of passion and dedication. Despite the harsh summer heat, he would travel for hours on his motorcycle to attend meetings—whether in Lalamusa, Kharian, or Gujrat—always placing the Jamaat’s needs above his own comfort.

He cared deeply for every member of the Jamat. There was a widow whose house was damaged, and Dr. Sahib instructed special collections to help rebuild her home. When the funds still fell short, he himself contributed to ensure her house was rebuilt. This was a true reflection of his faith.

When the situation in Pakistan grew difficult and police visits became frequent, Dr. Zaka ur Rehman did not waver. His steadfast commitment to his faith and community remained unshaken, serving until his final moments with courage and conviction.

A Man of Deep Faith and Prayer

His faith in Allah was unshakable. He truly believed that every problem could be overcome through sincere prayer. In times of hardship, he would always remind his family:

“Allah is Most Merciful, and these difficult times will pass. We only need to keep praying and remain strong in our faith.”

He constantly encouraged his loved ones to hold fast to the Jamaat and to seek Hazoor’s blessings through Dua. He was also firm about fulfilling one’s religious obligations, gently insisting that everyone pay Chanda and Sadqa on time, as a duty and privilege.

A Wish That Touched the Heavens: Jalsa Salana Qadian

One of Dr. Zaka ur Rehman Shaheed most sincere and heartfelt wishes was to attend the blessed Jalsa Salana in Qadian — a gathering close to his heart and soul. He had already prepared all his documents with great hope and anticipation, eager to be part of that spiritual celebration.

However, Allah had a different plan — a plan far greater and beyond human understanding. Allah bestowed upon him a noble and elevated station, granting him eternal peace and honor.

His physical presence in this world was taken away, but Allah has immortalized his name through his countless sincere services to the Jamaat and spiritual efforts. His devotion and sacrifices have been engraved forever in the hearts of the Jamaat and blessed by Allah.

Though he could not attend the Jalsa Salana in person, his soul remains forever united with the Jamaat’s spirit, and his khidmat (service) continues to inspire generations. May Allah bless him with the highest ranks and keep his legacy alive in every heart he touched.

A Heart of Generosity — Returning Allah’s Blessings

Dr. Zaka ur Rehman firmly believed that everything he had was a blessing from Allah. Whenever he helped others — be it offering free medicine or quietly aiding a relative or a stranger — he never considered it as his own generosity.

He would often say:

“It is not I who am giving; I am merely returning a small part of what Allah has entrusted to me.”

This profound belief shaped every act of kindness, making him a beacon of compassion and selflessness.

In Loving Memory

Dr. Zaka ur Rehman Shaheed’s life was a shining example of love for Hazoor, dedication to Jamat, and unshakeable faith in Allah. His sacrifices, humility, and service continue to inspire every member of the Jamaat.

May Allah bless his soul and grant him the highest place in Jannah. His legacy of devotion and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

دو جنازے

بھی پڑھاؤں گا۔ مرحومین کا ذکر کرتا ہوں۔ پہلا ذکر

مکرم ذکاء الرحمان صاحب شہید

کا ہے۔ چودھری عبدالرحمٰن صاحب لالہ موسیٰ ضلع گجرات کے یہ بیٹے تھے۔ گذشتہ دنوں ان کی شہادت ہوئی ہے۔ جلسہ کے دنوں میں، 27جولائی کو تقریباً صبح ساڑھے نو بجےدو نامعلوم افراد نے ان کے کلینک میں داخل ہو کر فائرنگ کی جس کے نتیجہ میں یہ موقع پر شہید ہو گئے۔ اِنَّا لِلّٰہِ وَاِنَّا اِلَیْہِ رَاجِعُوْن۔ ان کی عمر 53سال تھی۔

تفصیلات کے مطابق ڈاکٹر ذکاء الرحمن صاحب شہید معمول کے مطابق کلینک کھول کر بیٹھے ہوئے تھے کہ دو نامعلوم نقاب پوش افراد ساڑھے نو بجے صبح موٹر سائیکل پر آئے جن میں سے ایک کلینک کے اندر داخل ہوا جبکہ دوسرا کلینک کے باہر کھڑا رہا۔ اندر داخل ہوئے شخص نے مکرم ڈاکٹر صاحب پر فائرنگ شروع کر دی جس کے نتیجہ میں آپ کو تین گولیاں لگیں جن میں سے ایک گولی سینے پر دل کے قریب جبکہ ایک گولی پیٹ پر اور ایک گولی ہاتھ پر لگی۔ وقوعے کے بعد دونوں ملزمان بھاگنے میں کامیاب ہو گئے۔ فائرنگ کی آواز سن کر مکرم ڈاکٹر صاحب شہید کے ہمسائے کلینک میں آئے جنہوں نے ڈاکٹر صاحب کو زخمی حالت میں پایا۔ ڈاکٹر صاحب شہید نے موصوف کو کچھ بتانے کی کوشش کی لیکن خون کی الٹی آئی اور آپ شہید ہوگئے۔ اِنَّا لِلّٰہِ وَاِنَّا اِلَیْہِ رَاجِعُوْن۔ بوقتِ شہادت آپ پاکستان میں اکیلے ہی تھے۔ آپ کی اہلیہ جلسہ سالانہ یوکے میں شمولیت کی غرض سے یوکے آئی ہوئی تھیں۔

ڈاکٹر ذکاء الرحمٰن صاحب شہید کے خاندان میں احمدیت کا نفوذ حضرت حافظ احمد دین صاحب رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ صحابی حضرت مسیح موعود علیہ السلام ساکن چک سکندر کے ذریعہ سے ہوا جو تین سو تیرہ اصحاب میں شامل تھے۔ شہید مرحوم کے پڑدادا مکرم نیک عالم صاحب نے جو کہ حضرت حافظ احمد دین صاحبؓ کے بھتیجے تھے، 10جون 1901ء میں بیعت کی جس کے بعد انہیں سفرِ جہلم میں حضرت مسیح موعود علیہ السلام کی دستی بیعت کی سعادت ملی۔ ان کے خاندان میں پہلے بھی خلیل احمد سولنگی صاحب شہید ہیں جو لاہور میں شہید ہوئے تھے ڈاکٹر ذکاء الرحمٰن صاحب مرحوم کے ماموں زاد بھائی تھے۔ شہید مرحوم نے مختلف جماعتی عہدوں پر خدمت کی توفیق پائی۔ کافی عرصہ سیکرٹری مال جماعت لالہ موسیٰ ضلع گجرات رہے۔ بوقتِ شہادت بطور صدر جماعت خدمت کی توفیق پا رہے تھے۔ چندہ جات میں باقاعدہ غریبوں، محتاجوں کی امداد کرنے والے وجود تھے۔ جوانی کے دنوں میں جب حالات بہتر تھے، دوستوں کو تبلیغ کی غرض سے زیارت مرکز کے لیے بھی لے جاتے تھے۔

ڈاکٹر ذکاء الرحمٰن صاحب شہید کے بارے میں امیر صاحب ضلع گجرات کہتے ہیں کہ شہید مرحوم بے شمار خوبیوں کے مالک تھے جن میں مالی قربانی کرنا ایک نمایاں وصف تھا۔ عہدیداروں اور سب سے بڑھ کر خلافت احمدیت کی اطاعت کا خلق بھی بہت نمایاں تھا۔ ہر کسی سے خندہ پیشانی سے ملتے اور چہرے پر مسکراہٹ رہتی تھی۔ خدمت خلق کا جذبہ بھی کوٹ کوٹ کر بھرا ہوا تھا۔ ڈاکٹر صاحب شہید اکثر غریبوں کا مفت علاج کرتے تھے۔ علاقے میں غیر از جماعت احباب کے ساتھ آپ کے اچھے تعلقات تھے۔ جن کا ذکر غیر از جماعت احباب نے آپ کی شہادت کے بعد کیا ہے اور بعض غیر از جماعت آپ کے جنازے میں بھی شامل ہوئے ہیں۔

امیر صاحب لکھتے ہیں کہ عید الاضحی 24ء سے قبل ڈاکٹر صاحب نے مجھ سے ذکر کیا کہ سرکاری اہلکار آئے تھے اور انہوں نے کہا ہے کہ آپ کی جان کو خطرہ ہے لہٰذا آپ عید تک کلینک پر نہ بیٹھا کریں۔ لیکن بہرحال ان میں جرأت تھی بیٹھتے رہے۔ مرحوم نے پسماندگان میں اہلیہ محترمہ نگینہ رفیق صاحبہ، ایک بیٹا اور تین بیٹیاں چھوڑی ہیں۔ دوبیٹیوں کی شادی ہوئی ہوئی ہے ایک بیٹی جرمنی میں زیر تعلیم ہے۔ اللہ تعالیٰ شہید کے درجات بلند فرمائے اور لواحقین کو صبر عطا فرمائے۔ بچوں کو بھی ان کی نیکیاں جاری رکھنے کی توفیق عطا فرمائے۔
